HISTORY - ORIGIN - CULTURE

Known as "Elves of the Sea", Krakin are a sophisticated and elegant race known for a rich cultural society of fashion, entertainment, cuisine and warfare. Krakin, live in giant sponge and coral colonies below the sea, some of which are located shallow and others very deep. Though their structures grow naturally into great towering sizes, they have been known to weave their growth into fascinating shapes, styles and form, creating underwater cities with incredible complexity.

Krakin society favors jewerly of all kinds and their jewelers are known to be world class artisans in the sculpting and forming of Pearl. Among the most popular of Krakin fashion is the Gali garb, a garb typically obtained from a lengthy species of whale with a leathery white skin. This garb is customary amongst nobility of Krakin and is often adorned in sculpted coral flowerettes and pearl beads. Gali garbs are also prized for their soft streamlined surface and above water, their retention of moisture in soft lattice like structures of cartilage that help keep the skin moisturized and wet.

When talking about the Krakin's influence in the world, it is important to recall their dominion and unmatched skill of the sea. For many eons, Krakins have dominated the seas and oceans of Ammeil, overwhelming maritime forces into destruction or retreat. Only recently due to a long lasting war with the newly rising Svalki, has the grip of their oceanic control begun to slip.

Still, many kingdoms pay homage and taxes to armies of the Krakin for safe passage through their waterways, afraid of the consequences otherwise.

Krakin worship the Gods of the sea, amongst which VeQuasar is most honored and adored. Legend has it that VeQuasar was punished for his creation of the Krakin from the storm gods, since no storm could touch them. In retaliation they attacked VeQuasar mortally wounding him, but legend has it that he escaped, barely alive, and fled into the deepest depths of the sea, never to be seen again.
